Welcome to Blue Bell
A historic, family-friendly destination with proximity to Philadelphia.
Just 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia and only 30 from the
Philadelphia International Airport, Blue Bell offers serene living without sacrificing city amenities. A classically charming suburb, the area is a census-designated place full of community-emphasized living and quaint — though still contemporary — lifestyles. Between family-friendly communities, major businesses, shopping options, and more, it’s no wonder Blue Bell is so highly sought after.
Once named Pigeontown because of the passenger pigeons who used to call the area home, Blue Bell is named after the Blue Bell Inn. Now fully renovated, George Washington once frequented the inn, demonstrating just how deep Blue Bell’s history is. Blue Bell itself is found within Whitpain Township, one of the oldest townships in Montgomery County.
Today, Blue Bell is understood as a quiet yet lively and thriving community made convenient by its location and stunning by its array of attractive properties. From farmhouse to colonial, single-family homes in addition to estate acreage and sprawling home lots comprise Blue Bell’s character. Enchanted by its history, architecture, and community, many families and young professionals are proud to call Blue Bell home.
